BCHS Students Continue to Outperform the State in Test Scores

            Breckinridge County High School tenth grade students were administered the ACT PLAN test last September and scored an average composite score of 17.3. All tenth grade students in the state of Kentucky are mandated to take the ACT PLAN test each school year. The ACT PLAN test assesses the areas of English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. A student receives a scaled score between 0 and 32 based on their number of correct answers. ACT PLAN test score reports provide students with an idea of how he or she would score on the actual ACT exam and whether or not they are on target to meet ACT benchmarks. ACT PLAN test benchmarks are listed below.

            The class of 2017 at Breckinridge County High School outperformed the state of Kentucky in each tested area and ranked fifth out of thirteen public third region high schools in overall ACT PLAN test composite scores. Moving forward, members of the class of 2017 will continue to work to better prepare for the actual ACT exam in March 2016.             Hard work continues to take place at Breckinridge County High School in an effort to maximize student learning and allow for college and career ready benchmarks to be met by all students upon graduation. Breckinridge County High School students continue to outperform the state in all tested academic areas. Over the past year, Breckinridge County High School has been named a Proficient School in the state of Kentucky and named a Bronze Medal School by US News & World Report.
